With over 15 years in dentistry, Heather brings a uniquely well-rounded and personal perspective to helping dental professionals find practice environments where they can genuinely thrive. A practicing dental hygienist in South Carolina, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University and an Associate of Science in Dental Hygiene from Indiana University School of Dentistry.

Heather’s career has taken her through nearly every corner of the dental field — pediatrics, adult general dentistry, public health, private practice, mobile school-based care, and agricultural/migrant outreach. Her husband’s service as an Active Duty Navy Dentist allowed their family to live and practice across the East Coast and Midwest, giving Heather firsthand insight into how dramatically practice cultures, philosophies, and leadership styles can vary.

Dentistry also runs deep in Heather’s family — her father, cousin, uncle, and husband are all dentists — which fuels her lifelong commitment to helping providers choose environments that feel aligned with their values, goals, and lifestyle.

Heather’s deepest passion stems from her own lived experience: supporting military dentists transitioning into civilian dentistry. She understands the uncertainty that comes with leaving active duty — new systems, new expectations, new leadership, and a new impact on family life. There isn’t a handbook for that transition, and the stakes are high not just for the clinician, but for the spouse, children, and the future they’re building. Heather has walked that journey personally and knows just how critical it is to land in the right setting — one that provides stability, mentorship, community, and a culture that feels like home.

Having navigated multiple relocations and major career decisions herself, Heather often reflects on how valuable it would have been to have a trusted guide during those seasons. That insight ultimately inspired her work with Horizon Search Group — not simply pairing dentists with jobs, but walking alongside them through one of the most pivotal professional and personal transitions they will ever make.

Through Horizon, Heather supports new grads, associates, and career-transitioning doctors in making confident, strategic decisions about their next step — whether that’s a meaningful stepping-stone or a long-term professional home. Her approach is never about filling a role; it’s about ensuring each placement truly fits the clinician behind it.

Heather lives in Charleston, South Carolina with her husband, their three children, and two pups — and loves exploring the Lowcountry together as a family.
